As a matter of fact I will run a little experiment. I will be hosting a small workshop on Saturday December 16th at 6pm CST. In that work shop will will build this module line by line and finish with an installable module. Now this won't be a standard module with listviews and editviews like the users group presentation on the SugarForums in January, it will be a small, quick and dirty configuration editor type of thing. But if you have never written a module before it will be a great place to get your feet wet.

    You will need

    1) TightVNC
    2) Teamspeak

we will chat over the internet, so no phone needed but you will need a mic to talk. We will only have room for 4 or 5 people. If anyone else has a better idea for FREE software let me know.

If you want to attend send me an email to ken.brill <at> gmail.com

Ken, this sounds terrific. Thanks for taking the lead.

Is it possible to have this recorded? I'll also advertise this if you'd like.

Its a great idea as long as everyone understands that it will be completely unscripted and limited to the task at hand. Its a 'get your feet wet' type of thing.

There are a hundred little tiny improvements that can be made to SugarCRM, this is just an experiment to see if we can get a few more developers going out there.

Ken, I split the above posts from the earlier thread.

I wanted to make sure we followed up on this.

Is this event a Go? Or can you not get around to it, at least yet?

If it's a Go, I'll start promoting it. Totally your call.

I think its a go. I have 3 people attending so far and I think thats about the limit of my T1 line. I might fit 2 more (I have done it with 5 before and I am sure someone wont show up. It is going to be Saturday night at 6PM CST ( I think that 32.34PM PST or something like that... )

There will be refreshments, however since they are at my house that's gonna work out really great for me and for them... not so much.

So, how did it go? Did you get a recording? I found out about this too late to participate, but maybe I can talk the folks over here into letting us host one of these in the future so we can get a few more folks involved.
