Sounds good, I'll check it out.
You should still add these links to the SugarCRM Dev-User Groups Site
(http://www.sugarforge.org/content/co...y/user-groups/).
That is where I expected them to be.
Greetings, Fabian
Thanks for the feedback!
The webinar replay link is there... there's no room to put the PPT link.

I attended the early session and the speaker was VERY hard to hear and understand.
If it wasn't for the power point, I would have been lost.
Odd. I was on the call and audio was just fine.
As a follow-up: One of the things that was asked during this session was "what kinds of things do you want SugarCRM developers to make upgrade-safe?" I just ran into just such a need.
I just came across the fact that when you are defining the data file for a dashlet, you cannot use fields from the *_cstm tables. Apparently, they're not joined at that stage. They only get joined later. In any case, I just finished reading these threads:
http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?p=67044
https://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19274
It seems very obvious to me that these types of modifications will not be upgrade-safe. Now, it can be argued that they address an issue in the core functionality of dashlets that needs to be addressed with an official fix from SugarCRM. I would submit, however, that this is a good example of a place where a simple upgrade-safe way to let Sugar know that you want it to substitute certain core files with custom variants would be desirable. What do you think?

I put this about the Wrong Session.
That's cool.
How about it, Sugar people? What do you think about a "fork in the road" upgrade-safe mechanism?
To quote Robert Frost:
Susie, does Sadek read the forums? I'd love to hear his feedback. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Hi all,
Sadek does occasionally read the forums but I'll forward this thread to him for comment.
As an aside, Sadek recorded a "Sixty Second Sugar Snippet" podcast that will be published on August 20th. The topic was "performance tweaks" and not only does he provide several of them in only 3 minutes, but he also played the background guitar music. It's a departure from our usual "techno-beat" stuff we usually have for our podcasts. Be sure to subscribe to the series via iTunes or check the Podcast page every Monday for the latest installments.
