I want to get leads data from the website into Sugar. I started with the mambo components but the problem is that all fields (e.g. also dropdown fields from Sugar) get converted to textfields in mambo, thus loosing the defined options. Any pointers on how to best deal with this?

I'd suggest logging a bug against the Sugar-Mambo project here:

Alternately, you can use the "Web Form Creator," found in the Campaigns module in Sugar 4.5.1. This acts as a simple Lead form and may not have all the features of the Mambo component.
