Can't login after install

"You have been logged out because your session has expired"

I get this error every time I try to login after doing a clean install for the first time. I've tried searching and found some references to some issues but nothing that has helped.

Any information would be appreciated.

Cookies disabled?

Make sure your users is correctly on database.
Check if the admin user is there and update its user_hash with the code:
update users ser user_hash=md5("your pass") where id='1'

Also try different browsers and check if the message is always the same.
