Question FastStack 6.3.1 Windows MySQL installer won't run

I downloaded the MySQL version of the SugarCRM Community Edition FastStack 6.3.1 installer for Windows (sugarcrm-CE-6.3.1-windows-installer.exe), and I'm trying to install this on a Windows 2008 R2 VM. When I run the executable (either Open or Run as Administrator) Task Manager shows me that it runs for about 5 seconds at 90% CPU and then quits.

My IE downloads for this file show that "The publisher of this program could not be verified" (although I'm running the install from a different folder).

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

To be sure - you never even see the first Setup SugarCRM page ?

    https://www.sugarcrm.com/network/hel...tion_6.3.0.pdf

    1) Does your windows 2008 R2 server meet the installation minimum requirement of 1GB RAM - recommended 2GB ? Double check.

    2) Maybe the downloaded file got corrupted ? Try to re-download with a different browser - chrome or firefox.

    3) Try a different faststack version - like 6.3.0 or 6.2.x - on the same machine. It may be a defective release?

    4) Try all of them on another machine. It may be a problem with your one machine - but not with another machine.

    5) Still no joy? Search in the Sugar Bug Tracker and look for something like this already reported. If you find nothing - file a new bug with the Sugar Bug Tracker. Tell them all the details and steps you tried. If you found something - file your information as additional evidence.

    6) While waiting for an answer from the Sugar, if you feel confident technically, you can just install the parts of the faststack individually, one at a time. MySQL, PHP, Apache, and the Sugar code - which just unzips and goes into a folder in the apache document root, public_html.

Chris: Thanks for detailed reply. Responses to your points:

    0) Correct, I never even see the Setup SugarCRM page.

    1) Yes. The VM has 4GB assigned and nothing else running except the OS.

    2) I'm installing Firefox on the VM to see if that download runs happier.

    3) I didn't see an option for any FastStack version other than 6.3.1, but I'll go search, as it's possible there was a compilation error of some sort in building the package.

    4) This is all on a new VM. I don't want to dedicate a physical box to this, but I might try this if nothing else works.

    5) I'll search in the BugTracker if options 2 and 3 don't work.

    6) Yes, I think I may have to build this from the component parts if options 2, 3 and 5 don't fix the issue.

    Cheers,

    Rupert

Another thought: This is a 64-bit VM. Does the FastStack installer only work on 32-bit Windows?
