How to Upgrade SugarCRM CE 6.3.1 to 6.4

Does anyone have an definitive instructions on how to upgrade CE 6.3.1 to 6.4.0? I did try a clean install of CE 6.4.0 however I got nothing but a blank screen on trying to install (I have the following php.ini settings, max_input_time=600, post_max_size=512M, upload_max_filesize=512M). Any ideas or suggestions? Also if I cannot do a clean install how do I upgrade instead?

The best approach is to use the silentUpgrade tool.
There is no secret to do that.

Hey andopes, seem to run into you a lot here. There does seem to be a trick that I am not finding explained well in the notes. I am trying to do the silent upgrade since I have failed multiple times through the application Upgrade Wizard . Here is the command I am using, and the error I recieve.

Does the silentUpgrade.php files need to be placed somewhere in particular? Where is this manifest.php file, I did not see it in the zip file. I have read some other forum posts, but not finding all the answers.

I was pointing at the wrong zip file, I needed to point to this file! Yes, this was my issue...thanks for the moral support!

I am also experiencing the same problem.

I had tried to upgrade from 'Professional Version 6.3.2' to 'Professional Version 6.4.2' using the zip file 'SugarPro-Upgrade-6.3.x-to-6.4.2.zip' and 'silentUpgrade-PRO-6.4.2.zip'; using 'Silent Upgrade' method through command line.
But eventually the process ending up in an error:

If it fails right away you most likely have a parameter off or something along those lines. Post the command you are using so we can troubleshoot it.

The command I have used is:

php -f /var/www/silentUpgrade-PRO-6.4.2/silentUpgrade.php /var/www/SugarPro-Upgrade-6.3.x-to-6.4.2.zip /var/www/pcrm/upgrade.log /var/www/pcrm admin

and the files were downloaded from:
