Default Install location for Mac OS X

I downloaded the Sugar CRM installer to the deskopt and ran it. Everything ran fine and the application was installed in the Applications folder as you might expect. All works okay - i got one minor permissions error and took the fix option and it went away.

However the installation manual suggests that I should have run the install from the webserver directory on this machine (it is also the webserver for this app.

Do I have to uninstall and reinstall in the /Library/Webserver/Documents directory as the manual insists or can I leave everything as it is?

Is this a single user system? If so and it works then I would leave it alone. It should have been installed elsewhere but It's not going to run differently or incorrectly where you put it. If it's a multiuser system I would probably move it.

Hi there. Yes it is a multiuser system and I need my users to be able to access Sugar remotely. I will uninstall, move the install package to the web directory and reinstall as per the installation guide before I start uploading data. Is this what you were going to advise?

The installer defaults to the Applications directory so I have left it there. It appears to work okay.

I can't imagine any problems leaving it where it is, if the permissions are set well, if it's working it's a 50-50 deal. It's not going to work better in the web directory, but on the other hand thats where it belongs.
