Default New install not linked to CSS

New install on Linux site subdomain has vacant look once you login. Lots of blank space, only a left menu I've uploaded the files twice, reinstalled and verified that I have 64M of Ram. Please tell me how to fix the install.

    Thanks for your help.

Changing cache to 775 will work but represents a security issue, you should change permissions on "cache" folder recursively to 755, this will solve your issue and will keep your system secured..

    Hope this helps

i also have the same problem as the original poster. pre-install i set all the files (root dir, all files & dir) with 755 permissions recursively. does this pose any security threats?

    thanks in advance!

Yes - you should put all the files to 644 at most. Directories 755. My php script (see link in post #5, above) fixes these permissions - recursively - for you.
