Outgoing Email SMTP Issues

I've just completed a setup of sugarcrm CE through simple scripts on my ipower shared hosting account. I've done this before on a different ipower account, and had no problems. But that was a long time ago with another version. This time its version 6.0.1 and 6.0.0 (the only ones simple scripts shows for ipower).

Now I've tried to setup the SMTP server with all correct settings. Settings that I have confirmed work on outlook and other clients. But it doesnt send any email. Neither by trying to send a test mail nor through the email module. It works fine if I directly use Gmail as the outgoing mail option, but if I use Other and input all correct settings, it doesnt work. I've set logging to INFO, and there are no errors, except for one FATAL error in the first line. I'd be really thankful if someone can help me out with this. I've attached the log file.
