View is weird after install

I am getting a view that displays the site map first, then is a very "txt" type view on the rest of the page. There are no boxes or styling.

Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have the same problem that I had.

I found a solution, and posted it - a short php script. Let us know if this fixes the issue for you.

Hi,
I installed SugarCRM CE for the first time yesterday and that was the second issue I found after installation, the solution I found was to change permissions in the "cache" folder to 777, that fixed the css theme styling issues, I'm not happy with this solution because it represents a big security issue if your server is in production so I will keep you posted on how I solve this before I put my test server online
But for now, that will probably solve your problem, try changing the permisions of "cache" to 777

Many thanks for this, your script (and great instructions for a newbie :-) solved the problem for me after manual changing cache to 777 did not (it was already at 755)
