    Default Configure SugarPro or SugarEnterprise

    Good Afternoon

    We work with a company that is interested in getting a system to run as a CRM "coMarketing" tool. We have worked with Sugar Community for some time now and we suggested to our customer an implementation in this software.
    However our customer would like to have a Warranty Software. We had taken a look to SugarPRo and SugarEnterprise, and even prices can not be a problem, we would like to know if we would be able to configure the SugarPro or SugarEnterprise version to adapt it to our cusomer needs and still get the Warranty offered by SugarCRM.

    Would we need to become partners of Sugar CRM for this? Is there any way we can get an adapted sugarCRM with a Warranty from SugarCRM company??

    Sugar Pro and Enterprise can be extensively customized, using the provided tools, without any effect on the "warranty" offered by SugarCRM, especially since there is essentially no warranty. Here is the warranty text in the EUSA:

    4.2 As Is/Disclaimer of Warranty. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS AGREEMENT, THE SOFTWARE AND/OR PORTAL AS PROVIDED BY SUGARCRM AND ITS LICENSORS ARE PROVIDED AND LICENSED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SUGARCRM AND ITS LICENSORS DO NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THAT THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE AND/OR PORTAL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

    Irrespective of the warranty, you should customize Sugar via the Studio, Module Builder, Workflow and Custom Logic Hooks...reserving changes to the core files for when there is no other solution. This will greatly facilitate upgrades, patches and the ongoing development of the system.

    Hi David

    Thanks a lot for your answer, I appreciate it. Sorry for my confusion, but I thought that SugarPro or SugarEnterprise had a price per user due to the Warranty they "offer".

    Am I correct now thinking that they reason they charge per user in SugarPro or Enterprise is the specific configuration you have in these versions and not in Community?

    Hi again,

    As far as I know, most software is sold "as is" without a warranty, since to do otherwise is to take on an open-ended risk.

    There are many reasons to go with Sugar Pro or Enterprise:

    1. Support direct from SugarCRM.
    2. Reports module
    3. Teams functionality
    4. Product Catalog
    5. Quotes
    6. Outlook and MS Office plugins
    7. Forecast module

    Perhaps your customer really wants support from SugarCRM, rather than a warranty.
