Hi lvangool, the GPLv3 provides the best license in support of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software), which is what Sugar Community Edition is all about.

We're happy to embrace a widely supported license as we continue to expand the Sugar community and Community Edition project.

An absolutely outstanding decision on the part of SugarCRM. I had decided to abandon SugarCRM, but this decision to use the GPLv3 definitely has me reconsidering it.

I guess you win some you lose some. While I wasn't fond of the old license it was tolerable. GPL3 adoption puts SugarCRM off our consideration list. It's a shame GPL2 wasn't implemented first.
