Very nice. I can see big things happening in the future because of this.

I agree of course!
I wonder, how did this change come to be?
Great News! Looking forward to seeing V5.0 soon.
Hi lvangool, the GPLv3 provides the best license in support of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software), which is what Sugar Community Edition is all about.
We're happy to embrace a widely supported license as we continue to expand the Sugar community and Community Edition project.

FANTASTIC
SalesAgility - now very proud to be part of the community of one of Open Source's leading applications - SugarCRM .... and very happy that we no longer have to justify to Open Source colleagues why we continued to support the project.
As we say in Scotland

This is good news! Looking forward to see version 5.0.
Sometimes you say "No news is good news" ... in this case this common saying proves falsecause really "This news is good news"
Gratz to that decision
An absolutely outstanding decision on the part of SugarCRM. I had decided to abandon SugarCRM, but this decision to use the GPLv3 definitely has me reconsidering it.

Hi tdp, well, what else will it take to get you back for good??!!!
To others, thanks for the feedback. This is an important decision for us. And now that it's been made it's time to really crank up the Community Edition (5.0) train. Look for much more fanfare shortly regarding the upcoming Sugar Community Edition release.

I guess you win some you lose some. While I wasn't fond of the old license it was tolerable. GPL3 adoption puts SugarCRM off our consideration list. It's a shame GPL2 wasn't implemented first.Originally Posted by andydreisch
