Default Editing Relate field in a module

    Hi,

I have made a custom module called "Institutions". There is a "relate" type field there called "financial contact" that relates to names in the "Contacts" module. However, in my project I need to have the "financial contact"
relate to multiple "Contacts" (so they can appear as comma separated or as bullets and then you can click on them to go their detail view in the "Contacts" module.

Is this possible..? Or can you please suggest any alternate solution ?

    Thanks!

Sugar accomodate easier this functionality using relationships, that are the subpanels that appear below a record when it is in detail view.

If you want to have this relation feature as a multiselect or comma separeted, you probably will need to program this feature manually.

The relation field type, is used to assigning just one record of related module.

    Hi,

Do you think Sugar would allow me to program the feature into a prebuilt-module?

I am new to Sugar so just wanted to ask. Can you suggest some detail about how can I have this functionality through a program i.e. which file to make changes to, what changes etc.)

I wanted to clarify a thing. In the Institutions module, I already have a "Contacts" module as subpanel so if I have another subpanel named "Financial Contact", I would have to create a new module (right?) which would be redundant (since this new module would also contain the same fields as contacts). Is there a way I can create a subpanel that would take fields from the Contacts module itself?

    Thanks!

I just created a new subpanel (relatioship) and changed the label name. I was not sure if changing the inbuilt-code.
