Extending Webservices

Hi,

I try to extend the webservices and added a few functions that work quite well.
Now I'm stuck with adding custom return types of functions. I want to return a multi-dimensional array but always end up with the message 'unable to serialize result'.

Do I have to define a custom return type or is there a pre-defined type (like xsd:string etc..)?

If I have to define a custom type, can anybody please provide an example or snippet to explain it? Can't find a suitable example in the documentation.
