Hello,

I was thinking about possible setup of Sugar. Do you think it is possible to let two different instances of sugar work on one database? And then also that one instance is a community edition and the other a professional edition?

The reason why I ask this, is because only a few of our users require the full professional functionality. The other users can do their job with the community edition functionality. Since the price of a professional license has increased with more than 30% in one year these considerations need to be made.

If this setup is possible, without a major code change this can be considered. But I am just exploring the option, so any general thought about this is welcome.

You cannot run Sugar Pro and Sugar CE off the same database. You could use Sugar Pro for the users who need the full functionality and a portal for the users who need a limited set of functionality. We have a portal product if you are interested. SugarCRM also has a portal product. Feel free to ping me on Skype (dtokeefe) to discuss your project.
