REST call to SugarCRM 5.5 API with Ruby

Hi, trying to understand the data modules for Emails, Contacts, and Accounts and not finding documentation. I want to use the ruby client for accessing the API and adding from my application emails that have been sent into the history, creating contacts, and accounts -- and it is unclear because I don't know what data needs to be sent.
