Default Sync with Professional and Community

Hello, i have been wondering whether it would be possible to sync the community edition with the professional edition of Sugar crm.
Or, as the professional edition has an option of offline client, can the community edition be used as the offline client for the professional edition?

Please clarify my doubts, as i want to tieup both the editions.
    Your suggestions are much appreciated.

    No, you cannot do that.

First of all, community does not have the ability to sync.

Secondly, you cannot use differing versions of Sugar to access the same dataset. i.e. You cannot have Community users and Pro users accessing a Pro database.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. I have a doubt regarding syncing both the editions. By "sync", do we mean that we have to use the same database for both the editions, or maintain same data in both databases?
If this is the case, and if it is possible, should we write any triggers to sync the databases ?

Please clear my doubt, and iam eager to know from you,
    thank you.

To expand on the latter part of my comment...

If you are using Sugar Pro/Ent, any other Sugar user that requires access to that same data must be using the matching version of Sugar as well.

I.e. You cannot have a Sugar Pro install that has users utilizing Sugar CE to access the data, directly or through some sync process. It is a violation of your Sugar Pro/Ent usage agreement.

Ok, thanks for your response, but let me explain my scenario clearly.
My client has installed Community edition v. 5.1b and now he wants to buy professional edition.
Some of his men would like to work offline using the Offline client of professional edition.
So when they connect to interent, the changes they made to the offline client would be updated in the professional edition database.
Now the same data updated in the professional edition database needs to be updated in the community edition database.
Please let me know, whether it would be feasible to achieve this, and whether we can use triggers to do this.

    Thanks kindly,
    shashi kanth

Yes, i did understood your sentence. But what i mean is that:

i want to have 2 different databases, one for professional and other for community edition. Users of each edition would be using the database of their own edition. But the point is that: when an insert or update is made in the database of professional edition, the same thing must happen in the community edition.
Is it possible? If so, how can i achieve this? (Using triggers?)

    Please advice me.

Apparently you didn't understand my point.

My advice: read the user agreement or consult an attorney.

    Hi dskanth,

I agree with Angel and don't suggest you do that. We'd better use sugar pro and offclient.

Thanks a lot for answering my question. But let me explain my scenario more clearly. I need to have both the professional and community editions up and running. But the requirement is that: when i make insert or update in the professional edition database, the same needs to get updated in the community edition database. So in this way, i would like to maintain both the editions in sync.

Please tell, whether it would be possible, and if yes, what i can do to achieve this (probably triggers ?)

My client has 4 men, who would be working offline, using the offline client (wireless) and when they are connected to the network, the changes get updated in the professional database. Now the same changes need to be applied to the community database, as the users using both the editions must be able to view the same data.
As you are thinking, the prof. edition users will not be using the comm. edition to access the data. Each edition users will be using the database of their edition (so both the databases need to be in sync.)
