Sugar 5.1.0 Patch B (Venice) - shipped on Oct 31, 2008

Hello all -

Here is an update on the current patch plans for Sugar 5.1.0 as of October 2008.

The current patch release available for download is Sugar 5.1.0 Patch A. Community Edition patches can be downloaded here. Professional and Enterprise Edition patches can be found here.

We are now working on the 5.1.0.Venice patch release (targeted as Patch B) which is currently planned to be available in early November. Bugs that are currently targeted for the Venice patch can be reviewed here. Please note that bugs can be moved out of this release at any time.

Please nominate bugs you would like to see addressed in the Venice patch by replying with a bug number to this forum thread.

The Outlook plug-in needs a lot of work and should receive it since most small (over five or ten employees) to medium size businesses use Outlook coupled with Exchange and I would think that would be your largest market.

This is related to the Module Installer, which has numerous forum posts. Many users are unable to install custom modules and receive an unhelpful error message "...package does not exist"

Custom Module development is essential and this needs to be fixed or have workarounds documented.

For Bug 23013, these issues are routinely traced back to lack of proper file system permissions. In other words, this is going to be a configuration issue, not a bug in the Sugar code. Please take a look at the note I attached to this bug.
