    Default Sugar 5.2.0 Laguna (Patch A) - shipped on January 28, 2009

    Hello all -

    Here is an update on the current patch plans for Sugar as of December 9, 2008.     Sugar 5.2.0 and Sugar 5.1.0 Patch C are on track to be released within the next two weeks. Note that Sugar 5.2.0 will contain all of the bug fixes that will be in Sugar 5.1.0 Patch C.

    We are now planning the January 2009 patch release which is the 5.2.0.Laguna release (targeted as 5.2.0 Patch A).     Bugs that are currently targeted for the Laguna patch can be reviewed here.

    Note that bugs can be moved out of this release at any time.

     Please nominate bugs you would like to see addressed in the Laguna patch by replying with a bug number to this forum thread.

    The following bugs were previously nominated by the community for a patch release and will be included in the Laguna patch.

    24929 - Custom currency field list view display problem
    24930 - The "Any Email" field cannot be re-added to the search layout once removed
    25254 - Some "Date Received" set to now during IMAP fetch
    25454 - A custom module is always put in the Other group tab regardless of the group tab setting
    25572 - Reply-to for case auto reply does not work
    25632 - Contracts - Expiration Notice does not send notification.
    25802 - Can't view attachments in Sugar KB
    26012 - Opportunity amounts are multiplied by 100

    Still being investigated
    25339 - dropdown problem with contact relationship to custom module
    24129 - unified search - changes overwritten
    26281 - <> tag output before <html>
    26051 - Creating Opportunity from Quote - Total Amount instead of Net Amount used
    26779 - One-to-many relation between custom module of company type and tasks not handled correctly

    Most urgent:
    Bug Number: 25262 (Plugin drops email addresses when archiving) - A CRM system losing information forever is an extremely urgent bug if a company is supposed to trust it with its data.
    Bug Number: 24708 (Email body not archived (only subject line))

    Others that would be quite nice:
    Bug Number: 25204 (Send and Archive does not work)
    Bug Number: 22462 (Allow duplication of a project and associated tasks)
    Bug Number: 5206 (Duplicate projects does not duplicate tasks) - Same as above

    Default Big security issue cleartext password

    When looking into the database of our evaluation of sugarcrm (community edition) we found that - when using the ldap-authorization feature the cleartext password of the domain admin user ist stored in the database table dbo. config --- category:ldap; --- name:admin_password --- value: <the admins cleatext passowrd>.

    Actually we hope this is faulty in the community edition only and doubt that the pro and enterprise editions have the same bug.

    But as you have to think about community edition users as probably beeing not only db-pros and security-pros and as every web application is potentialy open to some attacks you should probably think about at least a model of two-way-encrypted storage of that very sensible password. So if someone hacks the crm he has not already hacked the whole ad....

    25204 will be fixed in 5.1.0 Patch C. We have finally been able to reproduce 24708. We will look at this for Laguna. We have been unable to reproduce 25262 in 5.1.0. Any more details you can provide on how to reproduce it would be very helpful. We will look into 22462 and 5206.

    Could be easily reproduced here by introdusing an custom field of type currency. in LIstview al decimals are cut and displayed as 00 so e.g. 865,34 in Detailview becomes 835.00 in Listview.

    26228 - LDAP filters are not honored
    26383 - admin email & LDAPAuthenticate being displayed

    26125 - Different files (sent as attachment in different e-mails) open both as the same (one of the two) files.
