    Default Dash Manager

Lets say that you download a really cool new dashlet and load it on your system. Now you have to get all your users to add it to their home page. With dash manager you can add that dashlet to the Admins home page and arrange it any way you want and then copy those changes to all your users.

Also when a new user is created, their home page is copied from the admins home page so you can set up a default configuration for your users.

    Ken-

This module is reported as not being compatible with 4.5.1b pro. Is it safe to just edit the manifest.php file, or are there other concerns?

    TIA,
    Rick

Yes, it rewrites core files so PRO is out. If you know how you could merge it with your PRO code. I will be talking to SugarCRM soon on what the legal needs are for distributing PRO compatible modules. I'm not sure how to handle that or if it's allowed.

    Awww crap.

Something like this really needs to find its way into the core product, IMHO.

Sugar - you listening?? (I'm sure you are.... I can feel it...)

    Hi Ken,

I just installed this module on a copy of my Sugar Fully Loaded instance. Everything seemed to install correctly. I made changes to the dashlets on my Home Page and added the new RSS feed dashlet.

I clicked the button to "Reset All Dashboards", it asked for confirmation and then seemed to run correctly. But, none of the home pages of any of the users changed at all.

    Did I do something wrong?

OK, I found the bug. It was another "it works on my setup but noone elses" problem. This one has been tested on Windows, Mac and linux servers.

It is available here and will install over the old one (better to uninstall first tho)

Thank you Ken. This now works for me.

But, I was hoping that the contents of the JotPad and the RSS Feeds dashlets would get copied/reset as well. I was hoping to use the JotPad as an announcements board, and to put in my users home page the RSS feed of my company's news blog. What I got was the default content in both. Is there an easy way for me (or anyone) to get the contents (at least of those two dashlets) reset along with the layouts of the dashlets?

Never mind. I have found and edited the default message in JotPad. And this module actually did put the edited content I wanted in the RSS module. I only thought it didn't because I was looking at the account of a user that already had the RSS module installed, and that user's changes were over-riding the changes of this module.

Thanks. This module is actually pretty much exactly what I needed.

Just a "stupid" question from a Sugar newbies.

I've installed the 1.1 file on a 4.5.1b Open Source and all is working well unless I do not found the "reset all dashlet" button.

    Where it is ?

Thank for your work and for your help.

It should be in the "Admin" area, on the left-hand side of your screen. If not, there may be an problem with your installation.
