    Default Enhanced Multienum

    Hi all,

I've been having trouble with accidentally losing selected options using multienums in data entry screens so I've made a modification to add a new multienum using checkboxes in a scrollable list.

Hopefully someone will find this useful.

To install just copy 'multienum' under includes/sugarfields/fields' and name it what ever you want. then add the attached detailview.tpl.

I have changed the other ones but feel free.

You'll need to add you css styles to change the borders and such, i've embedded some into the template but you could easily move that into the css files.

    Hi Eli

    That is right interesting.
You can define a new SugarField instead of override the original one, this way the user can choose the layout.

Great! I have had that same trouble with the default one as well.

I'm (of course) with andopes on his point.

    Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, I thought it was about time I contributed something to this community.

I did intend to specify copying the multienum to create a new field but looks like I left it out.

    Thank you,

    Eli.

    Hi Eli,

We cannot ge this to work. Should it work with all browsers? Maybe we can help you to make to installable and via Module Loader for 5.0/5.1/5.2 and make it upgrade safe.

It would be great if you could contact me.

    Great work Eli.

We have been struggling with Multi-Selects for a long time and your solution is very elegant and easy to implement/maintain.

Our users will be very happy.

    Well Done!

I want to change the multienum view in the searchview, adding checkboxes to each entry.

So I try to use the editview.tpl file, but i receive an error message: the function multienum_to_array is not defined.

I already check the /include/smarty/plugins/multienum_to_array.php file and is in the correct place.

I dont know what else can i do.

I will explain what i did:

    1) Create a new Field: MultienumCheck (copy of the Multienum field Files)

    2) Replace the content of the searchview.tpl with the editview.tpl file

    3) Change the URL for the tpls in the SugarFieldMultienumCheck.php file.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks in advance.

My sugar version is 5.5.3 and im using Apache in Fedora.
