    Default For GoldMine Users....

    Hi folks,

I've created a tool which I hope many of you will find helpful.

It is called SugarCRM Express Conversion and can be downloaded here:
    http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/sec/

    What does it do?

It is a wizard driven utility that provides a simple way to migrate GoldMine data (SQL only at this time) to SugarCRM. It should work with all versions of GoldMine so long as the data is on SQL and supports all Editions of SugarCRM from 5.0 and higher.

You will need to know the SQL username and password for the GoldMine SQL database in order to use the tool.

What data should you expect to come across to SugarCRM?

    - Accounts
    - Contacts [Primary only, secondary will be part of next release]
    - Email and Web Address
    - Contacts will be linked to corresponding Account record

A version of the tool with greater capabilities is available for purchase as well.

So, if you are a GoldMine user and considering using SugarCRM, hopefully this tool will help your evaluation process.

    System Requirements:

    Windows XP or greater
    .NET 2.0 Framework

Not sure what to tell you. It is not configured any different than any other SugarForge project.

What happens when you try to download it?

    FYI,

For those keeping an eye on this thread, I've release a new version that supports secondary contacts and includes some performance enhancements.

Please post any problems to the project's Forums:http: //www.sugarforge.org/forum/?group_id=833

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    Angel,

I've been working on a Goldmine -> Sugar migration project for a client. They're using the dBase version.

Do you have any code available to help with that format? Would access to an existing dBase installation be helpful to you? Do you need any help with testing this project?

Also, please contact me directly regarding the cost of the full version.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this important migration tool.

    - Greg

dBASE is in the works right now, but I don't have anything to share at this point. Keep an eye out on the project page and my twitter feed for updates.

If you have access to a Corporate Edition install, you can always use it to rehost the dBASE installation data to MS-SQL and then you can use my utility.
