    Default MODULE: Zucker User Hierarchy

    Dear Community,
This addon module uses the "Reports To" field to build a hierarchical user tree, where each branch is separated from its siblings. It can be used to make Sugar multi-client capable and to build user hierarchies of any depth: a user in one branch won't see contacts, accounts, opportunites etc assigned to a user in another branch, only ones assiged to a subordinated user in the same branch. It can be enabled on a per-module base. See this example:

    User hierarchy

admin will see all contacts, jim only contacts not assigned to admin. sarah will see contacts assigned to max, sally or herself, but not contacts assigned to jasmith, jsmith or will. sally will only see contacts assigned to herself.
When using a level just below admin to map your clients to, Sugar will be multi-client capable by separating all entries into a branch assigned to one of the clients.
Please tell me what you think about it. The first release is available next week at SugarForge (just waiting for project submission).
    Best Regards,
    Florian

This would be a most welcome function (at least by me). I am right now playing with side-effects of TeamsOS to achieve this.

You probably looked into the internals of TeamsOS - is there some overlapping in the project aim?

    Regards,
    Wolf

Well, TeamsOS is meant for Teamwork - while this module is meant for building strict hierarchy of power. big boss is seeing everything, there is no privacy, users are separated from other teams and won't even know that they exist.

This sounds like just the type of thing I would need to add individual sales people / independent agents...I don't want them to see other contacts, opportunities, dashboard stats etc. of the other individual sales people...

I can still essentially accomplish some "team" structures with this. Sales manager "Frank" has a team of individual reps. Frank can see how each one is performing, but the others can't see each other's contacts, opps, etc...and you can have multiple sales managers, each with multiple people reporting to them...

Do I have the basics of it figured out? If so, I was just thinking that this type of thing would really come in handy!

I implemented the ZucherHierarchy module and successfully completed all the steps mentioned in the module text file. I can see the new user hierarchy, based on "reports to" field.

However, my different users are still able to see eachothers records in Accounts, Contacts etc. So the module, in essence, did not help in making the sugarcrm open edition as multi-client.

Zucker clearly says that this module will be able to separate users from seeing each others records...it DOES NOT do this.

Did I do anything wrong in implementation or does this module non-working?

Really need to create user hierarchy in sugar open edition. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

It does this like a charm with the newest release. Where are you having a problem? You need to install the patch as well as the module. I am working to port it to mssql for anyone interested.

    Hello Everybody,
I have some trouble with Zucker Hierarchy.

I have SugarCRM CE 4.51f running for a Company with 4 Callcenters and about 10 Salesteams with different Amount of Members.

The People in the Sales Grups should see only there own Stuff. The Salesteam Leaders have to see every stuff from every Team-Member like this:

    Sales-Team1
    - Team Leader
    - Team Member 1
    - Team Member 2

The Callcenter have to see the Calender of some Salesteams and do the Dating for them.

I just donīt know how to do this and installed Teamsos 3.3, Zucker Hierarchy and Roleowner module.

It looks almost good after lots of Brain Pain :-) but now after installing the Zucker Hierarchy Patch the Team Leader and every else Teammember gets a List of Dates in the "shared" Calender View with many Time Rebeating the Name of the Logged in User. Normally every Calender into the shared Calender View showing the Name of different Users. Now every Calender show the same name of the logged in User. And a different Problem is, that their is the Same Date repeating and increasing from one to another Row. a least their is the same Date standing 20 times in the last Calender.

Itīs possible that Iīve made some mistakes because the Installing instructions for the Zucker Hierarchy Patch are very poor. Even for programming Dummy like me :-).

I donīt know exactly what the author want to tell us with the following lines of the Installing Instructions:

To make this settings have effect, you have to insert them into the table "config" with "category" set to "user_hierarchy" using phpMyAdmin or another sql tool.

    'enabled_modules'
    Default => 'Users,Accounts,Contacts,Opportunities,Activities, Calls,Tasks,Notes,Emails,Cases,Bugs,Leads,Meetings ,Project,ProjectTask'
Comma-separated list of modules for which to apply the user hierarchy

    'to_admin_on_inactivity'
    Default => 'false'
If set to 'true', when a user becomes inactive, all subordinated users will be changed to be directly subordinated to the admin user.

Maybe is their something wrong or is their a compatibility Problem with the three installed modules ???

I urgently nedd Help because the Projekt is active and the companys works with it...

If somebody knows where I can get a Howto for Zucker Hierarchy, Role-Owner and Teamsos PLEASE TELL ME !!!
The Howto can be in english or German.

I hope thei are some good Souls out theire wich can help me.

Hello. I cannot download the readme file from SugarForge in order to install this module correctly. Can anyone post the readme.txt or tell me the steps to make this work?

    Thanks!

Now the downloading problem has been solved and the installation was successful and so far it's working. Thanks ftreml for this great module.

I know that post is old, but if you're still unable to install it correctly: Insert into table config: in the field category -> user_hierarchy; in the field names -> enabled_modules; in the field value -> 'Users,Accounts,Contacts,Opportunities,Activities, Calls,Tasks,Notes,Emails,Cases,Bugs,Leads,Meetings ,Project,ProjectTask'.

Repeat the same with names -> to_admin_on_inactivity with value ->'false'
