Default Queues with Rules for 4.5.1d

    Project url: http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/queues/

This is one of my favorite modules. Please excuse the copy and paste!

Queue cases or bugs based on the rules that you set up. Simplify the process of getting people only the cases/bugs that they really care about. Many more potential applications. I'd love to hear how you're using it!

    From the release notes:
This is really a combination of two modules; Queues and Rules. Queues hold
cases and bugs. Rules define what queue a case or bug should go to on a
save. Rules can be as simple or complicated as you want. You can add as
many OR conditions as you'd like to a Rule. If there are more than one
Rule assigned to a Queue it treats each additional Rule as an AND
condition. This should handle all possible conditions.

The Queue order number is very important. When a save occurs each Queue
will be processed in order until a match is found. A match is found when
the record passes all Rules for that Queue. You can add additional items
to create rules with by editing the rule_data_element_dom.

    Hi,
I've finally managed to have a few rules working sporadically, but I would like to use my custom variables to sort between de Queues. Nevertheless, I don't seem to find a way to do so... I added them to the "rule_data_element_dom" in every fashion I could think of, but always receive a message that it did not match any rule...
What should I add in the "rule_data_element_dom"? I tried for instance "cases.case_number" which doesn't work either.

BTW after playing for a while with this I crashed the entire system... First Apache and SQL crashed, and then after a reboot as I couldn't reload them, there were corruptions in the system, none of the rules worked, and I received warning messages when editing a case...

I decided to reload the whole thin (from a zip).

For those who are desperately looking for some help on how to use queues, it is actually very easy.

    1) download the module (works with 4.5.1e only)
    2) after you installed it, you have 2 new tabs, one labelled Queues and the other Rules.
    3) go to the Rules Tab, and chose create a new rule.
    4) For each AND you will need a new Rule. For each OR, you can add it to 1 Rule.
Be sure the stated value is set exactly as it will be recorded in the dB (Note that there are bugs, and you cannot edit a rule once you created it regarding the number of subrules, you can change the values and dB fields though)
    5) After you created all the rules go to the Queues Tab
    6) Create a new Q. Give it an order number (I would sugest starting at say 50, in order to be able to add some prioritized Queues before) save the Q
    7) Click on the Q. below on the page you have a section "Rules" with a select button.
    8) Click on the select button and choose all criteria that will apply as AND statements (all rules need to be fulfilled for the case/bug to be placed in this Q)
    9) Unfortunately, there is no retroactive effect, so you need to redo a save on each case before it is placed in the right Q.

I am still missing information on how to use your custom fields as Q classification trigerers, so this module is very limited.

    Sincerely,
    Bernard

    Bernard, great summary!

Shoot, I didn't know that people were using this. Perhaps a callback function would help that issue.

I've worked out the bugs locally here. I'll test it on a clean install and upload that to the project sometime within the week then. I'll look at your custom field question as well.
