Sugar OpenSales - Products, Quotes, & Contracts

I have installed your Quotes and Products module in our testing environment. Great work! I would like to play with the Quotes templates. Is there any information on the web on how to design our own templates? If not, I'll wait patiently.

I am new to sugar and wanted some help to install a module. I have the OS version up and running and tried to unzip the Products module in the modules directory. What else do I need to do so that my UI shows up the Products module as a tab. Also how are the tables created in the DB as part of the module?

Besides cleaning up the html portion, there's still some missing functionalitty within the Quotes module plus the Contracts modules as well. I havn't had a chance yet to run through the subpanels and make sure those are working properly.

The Products module is truly a beta release however, you may run that as-is. There's not a lot that will change within that module accept creating a tigger that will automatically update the availablity if a expected arrival date is completed.

I'm not sure if I built the relationships with the accounts and contacts module correctly however everything works like it's suppose to but, at some point I'm going to run back through those areas within all the modules.

Last but, not least is creating a way to add groups and line items plus a pdf template option. I'm not sure if the best thing is building a products subpanel under the accounts module and populate the panel w/ products and if so, when to remove those? When the contract that acquired that quote expired? There's a lot of variables I believe so, the best thing to do is leave those on a manual mode. I'll address this lastly with a admin configuration.

That's the whole entire break-down of what's left. Most of these can be done in different parts but, that should give you an idea of what's coming.

Feel free to mess around, let me know if you think of anything I've over-looked.

Installation of modules is done via module loader which is located within your admin menu. This will do a complete installation of all requirements to run Sugar OpenSales.

Just a quick reminder that later this week we will be approaching early beta stages within all available modules. This will allow use of OpenSales within a production environment.

Over the next 2-3 week forecast, I will be working on including group line items within Quotes module plus a pdf print template.

Sugar OpenSales 1.0.0 Alpha Release 2 has been released; Updated EditView layouts.

If you are saying it is OK to use in a production environment - are you saying you will also provide upgrades between your various builds - for code and for historical data? Doesn't seem like you would normally be doing that for Beta class code??

No, I should have been more detailed which is my fault. I didn't plan on releasing any alpha or beta releases however I wanted people to have the option to play around and follow along plus perhaps get some feedback and encouragement plus any other additional support.

I will only provide upgrade paths to versions, major, and minor releases.

In regards to above subject, you're free to use within a production environment however no upgrade paths will be available; use as-is self-supported. Minor bugs may exist and may not include functionality found within final release.

The main difference between beta and public release candiate will be group line items and pdf template plus building the relationship between Quotes & Sub-Contracts module.

From this point, a lot of time spent cleaning up with later major release including admin functionality to setup your sales work-flow.

I know I asked this before, but I didn't really understand the answer. When creating a quote should I be able to see the products at the bottom and be able to add quote items to the quotes or has this not been done yet.
Could be a problem with my installation. Look forward to getting this one going.

No, that has not been done yet... I will be providing an update shortly which will address several fixes including subpanel relationships.

Following release will include product line items with Quotes module.

Just updated, Sugar OpenSales 1.0.0 Alpha 3 has just been released.

What's new? Defaulted display subpanel relationships have been corrected within DetailViews, Quick Create within all modules have been updated, Default subpanel layouts within all modules updated, Popup subpanel request windows and definition updated plus several other minor fixes.

To do: Add product line items and pdf print functionality for Quotes module plus allow selection(s) within SubContracts to automaticaly build total amount derived from Quote.
