Arrow SYNOLIA - PDF Manager Module

This module, built by SYNOLIA, allows you to manage PDF documents directly into SugarCRM User Interface. You can design new PDF templates for all available modules. Your SugarCRM's users can now use your own PDF.

I just wanted to comment on the fact that this module's functionality is exactly what's been missing in Sugar CE for a while...

I just have a couple of questions :

    1) Can this include custom fields ? What would be involved to develop it to support that?

    2) Can the pdf engine be customised to support pre-defined forms? Ideally I'd like to be able to replace my rather complicated mailmerge process for filling out legal forms for my clients business.

I'd naturally be willing to contribute of this helps the development...

    Hello Chris,

Thanks for your interest on our package !

    1) Yes that include customer_fields but not relation fields.
    2) You should design advanced PDF but that depend of our means,

The best issue is to test our free module on a staging instance of sugarcrm :-)

We hope that respond to your request.

    THanks for your reply ...

I'm trying to test the PDF Manager product now but I can't get it to do as I want...

In short I've added some custom fields to NOTES for example. Of course Sugar puts these entries in another database table called NOTES.cstm. When I select PDF manager and want to utilise these fields, they don't appear under the NOTES module, but I don't see the NOTES.cstm module or the fields I've added.

This in fact leads me onto the second issue. I think the absolute winner here would be if the module could take different fields from different tables. Is it not possible to add fields into the document called, for example, notes.desciption along with account.name and cases.work_log.
I accept the actual PDF document would/could still be associated with one specific module (i.e. cases / accounts etc) but you should be able to include fields from any module, inculding the customised ones.

If this could be added to the pro version I think it would be a fantastic addition ...

Let me know what you think or if you need more information ...

    Thanks

Any information on what lordforbes has described? This functionality would be awesome and exactly what I (and I'm sure other people) are looking for!

Love the module, keep up the good work.

    Hi,

The module is great and what I needed. I wanted to know is it possible to specify the PDF orientation for separate templates?

I know you can pass the variable $orientation as either P or L from what I read. Is this something that can be done or is there a lot of customization needed? If so please contact me with a cost.

    Thanks,
    Deon

Hi...thanks for responding to my questions.

I want to have the option of setting the template orientation to display as Landscape or Portrait from your module. Right now it looks as if all templates default to portrait. When I looked at what the PDF functions from Sugar core can do with PDF's. I know one of the variables that it can pass is an $orientation variable. So how could I get the option when creating the template in your module to have it display as P or L?

    Thank you,
    Deon

Does anyone know how the above could be done or would like to give a quote on doing this?
    Thank you,
