VeryThinClient for mobile devices has been released

In SugarForge our new VeryThinClient for SugarCRM has been released.
This client is a real very thin web interface for mobile devices (handy/mobile, mda, pda, small notebooks, EeePC,...) which uses the SOAP interface of SugarCRM to communicate with your SugarCRM installation.

It allows to edit the default fields of Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Meetings and Calls.

In 5.0.0 it can be installed by module loader.
In 4.5.1 it can be installed by copying 1 file and 1 directory´, see UserManual for details.

This tool is free of charge.

Have a lot of fun with this tiny little extension!

Hi,

Congratulations, a cool new module.

It's solves most of the problems that the Sugar WAP component for 4.5. und 5.0 doesn't address.

One issue if I search for say a customer name and only enter part of the name it doesn't find the result. It only seems to work if I enter the "%" delimiter.

One improvement, it would be great if the telephone and cell phone no.'s are shown as a hyperlink and you can then select the no. to phone with.

Also tried the module with 4.5.1, also seems to work there as well

The Search can be used with wildcard chars '*' and '%'.
In Opportunities and Accounts the name is searched.
In Contacts the Firstname and Lastname is searched.


The dial function for Phone numbers will be implemented in the next release, I heard.

I think it would be better to offer the same functions & functionality as in Sugar, i.e. entering ABC would find records starting with ABC, not having to enter % or *

I just released version 1.0.0c which is installable by module loader in 5.0.0* and 5.1.0*.

Thanks Editha. Have uploaded and installed via module builder.
However, the docs are scant as to use.
From a new Sugarcrm user, how does one actually call that module from the mobile device?

If your Sugar Installation is called as

http://server.domain/sugarpath/

then the thin client ist called from a mobiles Internet Browser as

http://server.domain/suagrpath/thin.php

All you have to do is to enter valid username and password and click on login button.

Timezone and SoapServer are predefined by the thin client and may not be changed.
