Default 5.5 ready for production use?

Last time I asked 5.5 was not regarded to be for production use.

What is the situation today? Would it be recommended?

I'm running 5.5.2 in my test box and seems to be working quite OK in general?

As one of the people who advocates waiting a month or two while a new release settles down, I'm happy to endorse 5.5.2 for production use. We have it deployed in a couple of customer instances and it's performing well.

    OK!

Thanks for the information. I think I upgrade my server installation soon.

It also looks like 5.5.3 has been out for couple of days.

I start to test that in my text box in the future also, but from the release notes I found this:

    "Change in Behavior
Prior to 5.5.3, a single username could be used to log into a Sugar system under multiple sessions simultaneously. As of 5.5.3, a single username can be used to log into a Sugar system only under one session. Any additional user sessions started using the same username will log out previous sessions."

Any ways to circumvent this? In my 4 monitor setup I often have several sessions opened e.g leads, accounts, campaigns etc. on the screen simultaneously for editing, it is much faster to work that way, especially when sugar seems not to be the fastest system to respond.

Could this be made configurable? Admin can choose whether multiple logins by same user are permitted?

I could create several identical accounts, but it feels a bit odd to do so just for this reason... One thing also is, that when the browser is set to remember uid and pw it speeds up logins, but in the case of several accounts each login must be typed in (and before that, checked from my pw database...)

I know this is a security feature, but with machine I'm the only user of, it is a bit like shooting a fly with a cannon.

Sugar 6.x also sharing the same behavior as 5.5.3? That is, username can only exist in one session at a time?

Yes, all releases from 5.5.3 onwards behave the same in that regard.
