5.5 runs fine in PHP 5.2.12, not so fine in 5.3.x

In case anyone needs to know, Sugar 5.5 runs fine in PHP 5.2.12 even though only .11 is officially supported.

However, as others have found out, it throws a ton of "ereg is deprecated" messages in PHP 5.3 if you don't change the "error_reporting" parm in php.ini.

Agreed, but often people run Sugar in a hosted environment as opposed to a dedicated server or desktop (via a stack) and they have no control of what version of PHP the ISP decides to upgrade to. Thus, it is good to know what happens when one has to run Sugar in an as yet unsupported environment.
