    Default Accounts/Contacts linked to documents

I would like to be able to create documents that are specifically linked to a contact or an account, preferrably an account.
The account/contact could have more than 1 document.

    Example:
A customer wants their product added to the next brochure we're sending out.
We get a graphic artist to design the sales piece and logo and attach it to the account.

When we contact this account again, we have their graphic linked so we can just select it and readd it to the mail out

How would I go about doing this? Customising by adding a field perhaps? How would I get this for multiple documents?

Account --> History (list or tab) --> Create Note or Attatchment (button). Later You can see all notes (and manage it) Activities --> Notes link (usually in right-side) in desktop. In some cases You can use Archive email function.

Ah, so it's a note, not a document. Thanks.

Thumbs down Re: Accounts/Contacts linked to documents

I'm more than a bit surprised that Sugar doesn't support attaching document(s) to Cases etc., this is exactly what all my customers want - I haven't worked with one yet that didn't want it. Having only just discovered this is not available in Sugar is not good - II'd assumed iit was supported as it is in much lesser products as has already been mentioned. I'm now in the tricky position of telling the customer it doesn't do it, or having to create more custom functionality (I've had to do this a lot already).

As for zip attachments, or telling the customer to organise their documents better, well it'd be brave thing to do to-say-the-least. I'd expect the reaction to be in the form of an incredulous look, They're the customer and one is there to deliver what they want, not to try and impose our view of their business on them. They're the one's doing it and this is the real world - last time Iooked - I don't think you'd keep many customers with that approach

I believe this functionality is vital and really should be there already, the fact it's not even in the roadmap I find incredible!

If I have to develop a custom module(s) for this then I will of course share, the fact I may have to, for sozmething so obviously required, is crazy

    Hi, all.

You can add a custom field Flex Relate into Document, which can be related to Accounts or Contacts.
Then you follow the one-to-many relationships sugar wiki article to define a subpanel of Documents under Accounts and Contacts.
