Add email type checkboxes in Contacts module

Hello everyone,

I'd like to add more checkboxes to the 'email' field when adding a Contact.

For example, right now when you add a contact, and enter e-mail addresses, you can specify which one is primary, and check off 'Opted Out' or 'Invalid'. I'd like to add another chekcbox, namely 'PayPal' to indicate whether this particular e-mail address is associated with the contact's PayPal account.

How can I do that?

First of all ... read the manual ... you'll find that's there's a lot you can do with SugarCRM if you take the time to fully understand it.

But, to answer your question ... goto admin>studio>contacts

there, you'll be able to create new fields and add them to the edit and detail views of contacts

Thank you, but this is not quite what I am looking for.

Studio allows you to add and define extra fields in various modules, but not in the email block itself. Yes, I could add an extra checkbox elsewhere in the module, but since you can have multiple emails per contact, one checkbox elsewhere in the layout will not work. I want it to be right there, where 'Opt Out' and 'Primary' are.

Like this:

Right now:
Email: john.doe@example.com Primary Opt Out

I need:
Email: john.doe@example.com Primary Opt Out PayPal


How can I do this?

Nope, I have not found a solution to this, short of rewriting the php module responsible for this.

there is no way to add another radio/checkbox field for each email within Studio. This field would need to be custom created and added in the code
