Default Adding a custom field to the Accounts module

    Hello,

I'm currently running Sugar 4.2.0d which I am hoping to get upgraded to the latest version fairly quickly. In the meantime however I have a question relating to the Accounts module.

I'd like to add to the Edit Account/View Account page a couple of additional fields:

    - Primary Contact
    - Technical Contact
    - Billing Contact

Each of these fields should allow me to select from the list of contacts the most appropriate contact for the field.

I'm not sure how to achieve this with the studio and wondered if someone could help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mario

    Hi,

This cannot be done with the Studio component, although I am not sure why you want to do this in the Accounts module directly.

Suggestion, add an additional custom field in Contacts e.g. contact_type where you can select one of your options.

If this is not an option, we would be pleased to assistance us.
    Cheers Malcolm

This is an enitely logical request that we have just bumped into this issue, too. It would be an excellent facility to have.

Accounts may have many, many contacts and drilling down through the Contacts to find who is key to which function is not as user-friendly as if there were an "at a glance" map of the account's key contacts. Of course you *could* add a free text box to the Account module for each of those designated functions but clearly that's highly dangerous.

Any suggestions for us non-programming types as to how this would be best achieved without having to bother an overly busy IT team?

Thanks in advance for any ideas

    Hello,
I am trying to add some custom fields in the account module and having a problem. After I add the filed I don't see them in the Account Page. I'm sure I am skipping a step but don't know what it is.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John
