Advice -5.1.0b OR 5.0.0f

I have been wanting to go into production with 5.1.0b but I have been concerned with some of the posts here about problems.

My configuration will require custom field modifications to Accounts and Cases. I will then need to import about 1000 accounts and 2000 cases.

5.0.0f does not support import of cases.
5.1.0b appears to have import problems when using custom fields.

Can anyone shed some light on their experiences or provide advice?

If you have cases to import, you should abandon the idea to use 5.0.0f since it has no case import feature.
Maybe 5.1 is a little buggy on importing custom fields, but a fix should arrive soon.
Why don't you try 5.1 in a development environement and see by yourself?

Well thats what I am trying to do today (4 hours so far). Permission issues are rampant. Still having issues with changing lables on layout-listview of cases. Just changing the titles of the field (changing labels did'nt change them) and as soon as I deploy, I can see the names change back.

Are you experiencing these issues before or after the cases' import ?

Before any data has been inported. I started from scratch again and same issues.

Be sure you have read/write/exec permissions over the whole SugarCRM tree (file and folders).
