    Default All Emails

In SugarCRM 4.5.1 Email module, all my users have a link on the left that says "All Emails". When they click this, they can see everyone else's email.

Is this by design? I cannot imagine anyone else's sales dept reacting differently than mine, which completely freaked out. (especially the sales manager) Is it setup wrong? If not, is there a way to disable this? How can I keep everyone's email private?

We are using the latest XAMPP with SugarCRM on a Windows 2003 Server (apache, mysql). Email is using IMAP against an Exchange 2003 server.

Email works fine, both in and out. Just this little security issue

    Thanks for any help,
    Gerald

Ok, I figured it out. If you don't assign a security role to the user, even though they are not administrator they will be able to see all others' email.

I am not sure if this is the defalt security level, when you create a role. But something to watch out for.

However, this is a problem if a user IS a Sugar Administrator user. Yes, it's easy to limit the "All Email" list to a user only seeing his/her OWN emails in this list; however, if the user is a Sugar Administrator, even if you set all the permissions to Owner, an Administrator user can still see everyone's email.

Does anyone know how to prevent a lower level employee who is a Sugar Administrator from seeing everyone's emails... we want that user to be a Sugar Administrator and manage the Sugar Application, but NOT be able to see every email or record created/updated in Sugar.

This applies, not only to Email, but to every other record as well. If you're a Sugar Administrator, regardless of whether or not you're a member of a particular Team, you can still see every record out there.

    Thanx,
    Shari
