    Default Am I missing something?

Hopefully I'm just missing something really obvious...

I'm new to SugarCRM, and having a go with 6.1RC

I've imported some accounts, and also imported some contacts linked to those accounts.

My questions is, how can I do a search on my accounts and then export the contact details of those accounts?
i.e. If i'm doing some marketing in a certain city, I want to do a search in the account section for the city and then export the contact's information - either to csv directly or to a target list where i can export from there.

I can do a search in the accounts section and then export that data - but without a clients name etc its not much use.

    Can anyone help?

You need to do it in reverse. Of course, that assumes that the contacts have the city info you are looking for.

Assuming they do, the process would be similar to how you went about exporting the accounts. When you export contacts, it should include the account name by default.

Ok, the problem I have is that there is no address information within my contacts records.

I've had to import all records from an old MS Access database. Basically 2,000 or so businesses each with a number of clients. So because the clients are related to the business address there's never been one included within the contact records.

I'm not sure why you'd want addresses in the contacts section... surely thats just duplicating data?

Is there any way to run a query to pick up the related information? i.e. if I export business names it will pick up the contacts related to it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Rob
