Is there any disadvantage, performance etc. for running Apache instead of Internet Information Server for a local installed SugarCRM.
I run Windows XP Media Center Edition so I don't think I even have IIS.

Hi,
iis is much more comfortable to manage and its is much more stable and faster then apache.
last time i used apache, i had to manage this so called webserver over configurationfiles with texteditor.
maybe today there is a gui for that, dont know.
Dont know about media edition, but perhaps there is a separate install-packet for iis on microsoft-download-center.
good luck
Ronny
sounds like there is no disadvantage to using MS IIS (Internet Information Server) instead of Apache EXCEPT in my case I don't think the Media Center Edition of Windows XP comes with IIS nor do I think I can get and install the latest version.
If I find a way to install IIS, I will need to figure out how to test it with SugarCRM and whether I must first uninstall Apache.
I did the Sugar on Spike one button install of SugarCRM, Apache, PHP, and MySQL and am not familiar with any of the four, nor am I that familiar with MS IIS either.
Hi,
if u r not familar with all the components, i think, its easier to stay with sugarspike-installer and apache.
But if u want to try manual setup, here is a step by step guide.
