Default Assigning leads to users question

    Hello all,
I have a question, im new to sugar crm so bear with me if this seems like a stupid question. I'm testing the CE version to see if it is a viable solution for my company. So i created two users, user A and user B. When i create a lead and assign it to user A why is it that if i login to user B's account i can see user A's assigned leads? Is there a way so that the user that is logged in can only see the leads assigned to them and not all the leads?

    Thanks

    Hi,
You can achive this using role in the admin.

I looked through the documentation referenced but did not see how to restrict users so that they can see only their leads.

Our company has the same problem. We have multiple sources of leads and they are assigned to certain users. We want our users to see only the leads assigned to them.

The role module does not seem to have a way to restrict at a finer level than 'leads' (other than delete / edit / etc.0

So the question still stands: Is there a way to restrict what a user sees when he opens the Leads module.

You are wrong. Roles can restrict this. You need to set the 'Edit', 'List' and 'View' to 'Owner'. These correspond to the records you can see in the editview, listview and detailview. You then need to attach the users to the Role to bind them to these restrictions. If they are already logged into the system when you make this change, the restrictions won't take place until their next login.

Keep in mind that if you log in as an admin, you can see all records and are not restricted to the role security.

    Thanks SugarCane

I was mis-interpreting owner, as the creator.

    Tested and success.
