    Default Asterisk voice mail access for SugarCRM?

    I've been looking for days for something which would allow users to web access their voice messages such as ARI on the Asterisk, but for SugarCRM. I would have thought this a given for such a mature app but either I'm blind or it simply doesn't exist?

    I've found VoiceRD but that doesn't allow web access to VM.

    Anyone know of anything for 5.0?

    You won't find voice mail integration with Asterisk for SugarCRM. Typically a CRM/phone system integration focuses around the following two areas:

    1) Click to Call - Clicking on a phone number in the CRM application starts an outbound phone call to that number.

    2) Screen Pop - An inbound phone call "pops" up the CRM application with the appropriate lead/customer screen that matches the phone number dialing in.

    Historically, the more advanced CTI systems (computer telephony integration) for CRM applications would include a "soft phone" that embedded all of the call control capabilities (such as VM, conferencing, forwarding, etc) into the CRM application as well. However, this is becoming less common these days as most modern telephony systems have their own soft phone that sits on the desktop next to the CRM application. It's this standalone soft phone that would give you the ability to retrieve voicemail.

    Now that's the overview of CTI and CRM. Let's talk about what is happening with SugarCRM. Sugar's approach to CTI (whether it's plugging into Asterisk or other legacy technologies like Avaya) has been to work with other vendors and communities that have technical expertise in this area.

    We are currently working with three vendors who provide CTI integration into SugarCRM. You can find them up on SugarExchange.com. The only one of those three that I am familar with is the VoiceRD solution provided by NovaCoast.

    The free download you will find on SugarExchange.com and on SugarForge.org allows you to click-to-call from within the Sugar application. It does not have the screen pop or soft phone capabilities. NovaCoast sells a commercial version of their product which allows for the inbound screen pop capability as well as recording phone calls. They don't have an integrated soft phone for Sugar (no voicemail capability) but I believe they do have a separate soft phone that would allow you to access VM's from your desktop.

    For the VoiceRD/SugarCRM software, the VoiceRD folks have a dedicated help forum on their website. You will get more in-depth answers there as to what their software can do what they are planning to do with it in the future.

    Thanks for the information. Might you know of something else which does integrate asterisk user functions? I don't need admin functions, just user things such as vm, meetme, etc.

    Please can you provide help step by step also try for this

    It is possible integration between Avaya PBX with 3rd Party TAPI and a Web CRM (in this case SUGAR CRM - PHP/MySQL environment ) and, if so, how can we implement it.
