    Default Attaching Emails

I have been looking through previous threads about email attachments but they dont appear to answer my question.
My users need to be able to attach emails (from Outlook) to opportunities in Sugar. I realise that they could save the email as a file and then attach that file to a Note in the Opportunity. However they would like to be able to to it directly (from Outlook) without having to save the file first. Is this possible?

You need the Outlook Plugin to do that.

I managed to answer my own question so I am posting the solution here in case it helps anyone else.
The previous poster was correct you can do it using the Outlook plugin but more specifically you use the 'Archive To Sugar' button after selecting the emails you want to 'Archive'.

Ok, so now I can archive an email to Sugar but I can't find where it gets archived TO. I was expecting to be able to open up the Opportunity record that I archived the email to and see it listed but its not. There does not appear to be anything in the Plugin manual to indicate this.

    Hello pcg,

when you click the 'Archive to Sugar' button, a popup screen appears which automatically pulls the email address of the person who sent you the email and searches Sugar for that email address. You have the option to overwrite and search for any other key word or email, and also which modules you want to search,.

This email should appear in the History subpanel of whatever record you attached it to

    hi,
You can try the Grinmark outlook Plug in, Its free version allows you to do that. It worked for 2 months on my system without any hick ups.

    Thanks for all the replies.
The record I archived the emails to (an opportunity) does not show the emails in the history!
    Strange, I dont understand why.
