I wonder if any SugarCRM admin out there care to share:
What backup strategy do you use to backup SugarCRM data? Advantage and disadvantage of your method? Do you automate the backup procedure?

We run a mysql dump each day and then have a 3rd party backup application copy the contents of that folder to a backup drive. The whole process is automated and if something fails the backup app can be configured to send an email alert. Works great for us.
We also run mysql dump and that helps us alot.
Regards,
Yes, mySQL backup/dump is really the best method to backup the database, as you can recreate it with less effort from scratch.
BUT do not forget to backup your ../cache/upload/* directories, as theys contain your uploaded data!
AND to have a full backup of your whole sugar directory after completion of the customisations should be given.
