Basic Questions: Contacts, Notes, Tags. Assistance Needed.

Good evening,

As a frustrated newbie, please bear with me for a few. I have three major issues/questions:

1. Contacts vs Contacts. I understand the basic difference between sales contacts and marketing contacts, although, in my opinion, they should be the same. But, starting off, I imported my contacts into the sales contacts list, when they should have gone to the marketing contacts list. Is there an easy way to move them over? Or should I delete them all and start over?

2. Notes. If I create a note about a contact, for instance what kind of wine he likes to drink, and assign that note to the contact, how do I get the note to show up when I view the contact?

3. Super Tags. I installed the module and cannot for the life of me figure out how to assign a tag to a contact.

I really hope these are stupid questions and I've just been staring at this thing for too long to see the answers. My concern is that these (#'s 2 & 3) aren't easily accomplished or even possible, which kills a lot of potential for this system.

Any and all assistance is much appreciated.

There is only one Contacts modules in SugarCRM , whatever you will import will come under one basket Contacts , Sale ,Marketing are just a group of different modules , same contacts modules is there in Sales and Marketing . to have better understanding just remove the group ( go to top right corner of page and click on page style and from navigation drop down select modules instead of Group modules )

2. Notes. If I create a note about a contact, for instance what kind of wine he likes to drink, and assign that note to the contact, how do I get the note to show up when I view the contact?

under that Contact detail view scroll down and look into history sub panel , you will find that note there .

3. Super Tags. I installed the module and cannot for the life of me figure out how to assign a tag to a contact.

Not so lucky on this one. I even created a few more notes and assigned to several contacts. Still nothing showing at all below the contact.

Hi Acacord ,

you can try one more time , goto Activity modules -> Create note -> in related to field select contact and click on select button select one contact -> fill rest of field -> save it -> on detail view page click on that contact -> it will take you to that contacts detail view page -> scroll down -> look under History sub panel -> here you will get your note attached

This got rid of my errors on the User Email Settings screen.
In my case I am trying to configure imap, gmail, ssl and if I press the test stays there and does not do anything. It gives several boxes red borders, but they're filled in.
