There are no advantages to upgrade 5.0.0b to 6.0.0 - not really.
Sorry sugar folks...
There are a lot of advantages to upgrade from 5.0.0b to 5.5.4,
better performance, better handling of the studio, betterm handling of mass updates, better email handling, less bugs,...

Harald, I always rely on your analysis as well as Angel's.
You mean there is nothing in 6.0 CE that is different or better than 5.5.4 CE?
How long will they support 5.5.4? Maybe six months or a year? Sooner or later we're going to have to move to it, right?
I"m a one-person insurance agency. I'd pay for a one-seat Pro if it were reasonable... like $30 a year or so. Why won't they do that?

@al3:
In out company we are runnung a 5.2.0 version of CE.
There is no need to upgrade to a newer version at the moment.
I did not say that there is no reason to upgrade to a 6.0 PRO but the 6.0 CE has less features than 5.5.4 CE and the only really new I could find was the working reCaptcha and new bugs.
@davcha:
YES, at the moment the 5.5.4 is the better choice. I wrote it in many posts here: never upgrade to a version which is totally new.
If you really want to have a version with only one theme and some missing functions the wait until 6.0.0e or perhaps 6.0.0c.

I appreciate your analysis.
What message is Sugar sending to the "community" with 6.0? These are intelligent people and it seems to me that they would not put out an upgrade with fewer "features" than the previous version for no reason at all. There must be a message in this somewhere!
Seems to me that they are signaling the end of the CE and that they are moving away from the open source model. I don't know what else to think based upon what you have posted.
I would buy a single-seat license if the yearly fee were reasonable, but at $350 USD with a 5 seat minimum, there is no way I can justify that for a one or two-person office.
I think that a lot of people may start looking at vtiger or some other alternative unless Sugar either 'upgrades' 6.0 or offers us a cost-effective way to buy Pro.

There is one new feature in Sugar 6 CE that I like
In studio you can alter the popup view
They have also fixed some bugs and Target lists is now consistent with the other modules in Sugar
I agree it is much to early to upgrade to 6 at the moment

I'm really new to SugarCRM and thse kind of programs. Ii'm not actually using it in our company, i'm just there to evaluate the benefits of upgrading to v6. But with what you said, i'd like to evaluate the benefits of upgrading to 5.5.4
So, what are the new features i'll find in 5.5.4, considering they're using 5.0.0b, right now ?
ok you mean we should not upgrade to 6? I like the new layout. but if 5.5.4 is much better i will think about it again
