    Default Re: Best Practice

As a best practice, we recommend that your sales process flows as follows in
    Sugar:
    1) Sales rep takes action and enters new Lead (not yet a qualified
    opportunity) into SugarCRM
    2) Lead becomes qualified and is ready to become an Opportunity (a revenue generating event)
    3) Sales rep takes action and uses the "Convert Lead" button in the Lead detail view to convert the Lead to an Opportunity, Contact, and Account (or selects an existing account that is already in Sugar).

The Result: Your Account, Contact, Opportunity, and Lead are all linked in Sugar. If you drill into the Account record, you will see the Contact, Opportunity, and Lead in the corresponding sub-panels.

To learn more about this, sign up for the Lead Qualification and Opportunity Management seminars that are available at no charge at Sugar University. You can check out the schedule and sign up here: http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/university/signup.

    Thanks,
    Kim
