Default Best Server Setup For SugarCRM -- Scalable

I am looking into the best server setup for SugarCRM. I have been considering Amazon EC2, but a dedicated server seems much easier to setup and maintain.

Does anyone have experience with Amazon EC2 and would you reccomend using it for SugarCRM or would I be better off with dedicated hardware server.

Our budget is about $200 a month. Reccomendations on a server that can handle a lot of concurrent users would be great. I would expect up to 200 concurrent users and would like for our system to be easily scalable if we need it. At the same time we dont have an in house systems admin and I would like to be familiar with the environment we are running in. I am familar with XAMPP.

The whole variable cost thing at Amazon makes me want to fix our costs in on something powerful enough for our needs. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Joe,

Have a look at slicehost. It's easier to setup than EC2 and it totally scalable. They also provide daily and weekly snapshot backups. You could also then pair that up with using amazon S3 or Jungle Disk for more fine grained backup control. Slicehost was recently acquired by rackspace as well to form part of their cloud services.

    Thanks

    Vince
