Best way to remind user that it is time to contact a customer?

Is there a way to have Sugar tell me "Hey, you haven't called/emailed this customer in 4 weeks" or "it has been 2 weeks since you logged anything about this prospect/opportunity"? Other CRM's call it "touch management" and create tasks or reminders for users to call their customers on a regular basis.

You can customize the dashlet about the pending items for instance, calls, meetings,...So next time you login it would list all those items in the dashlet.

Do you use Sugar Open Source? Using workflows you could let Sugar create the reminders automatically (based on your requirements). But workflow is only available in the Pro/Ent edition.

Our medical application uses open source 4.5f. We call it tracking charts, prescriptions, meetings, tasks. There is also a reminder via email to patients via encryption.

I would like hear about workflows. Unfortunately, we don't use the pro or ent version however, I may use it in the future when users demand it.
