Birthday Alerts

Hi there,

I am busy lookign for a good open source CRM software that I would like to set one of my clients up with. So far, SugarCRM seems pretty good, but i cannot figure out how to add birthday alerts. After reading many posts in the forum relating to this, none seem to have come back with a firm solution.

Is there a simple way to set up birthday alerts for contacts?

In SugarForge there is at least one solution for that called "BirthdayDashlet" (http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/birthdaydashlet) that could be helpful for you. You can place a dashlet on your SugarCRM home page which lists all SugarCRM contacts with upcoming birthdays.
On SugarForge they say it's for SugarCRM version 4.5 only but I've used it successfully with 6.0.1 and I'd expect that it will work on newer 6.x versions too.
