A bug in Contacts?

Hi I'm new to CRM and SugarCRM. I've just installed it and it's very impressive indeed. I've only just started using it and maybe I'm doing something wrong but when I add contacts for some reason all the names in my contact list are the same but when you click on them you get the real name. Am I doing something wrong?

I am not sure I understand the problem.

From your screenshot, it appears as though you have three separate entries for the same contact name, but it doesn't appear to be a situation where the same contact record entry is being erroneously displayed multiple times. The phone numbers don't match for one, which indicate to me that there are multiple records that just happen to share the same name.

I was really exited when I found sugarcrm but if it is such a mission just to add a contact then I'll have to look elsewhere, but hopefully you can prove me wrong

A couple of things (besides the behavior being odd).

What happens if you click the Contacts tab, then click the "Clear" button?

Does your login have admin rights?

Does the same happen if you login as a different user?
