Hi all.
I've been using SugarCRM open source 4.5f for about a month now, and love it. I'd like to extend the functionality by adding a couple of modules. However, I've tried Module Builder 3.5 on a SugarCRM 4.2.0d installation and not getting anywhere. I wanted to know:
- Is Studio (and thus SugarCRM pro) necessary for Module Builder 3.5 to work? I can create a new module, define fields and dropdowns, but when I build the module, I don't see the custom fields. I only get the Name, Assigned To and Description fields on the edit screen. The Form Layout page doesn't give me an option in the 'Select a File' dropdown to select my new module.
- If a new module is going to be very similar to the existing Contacts module, how much work would it be to copy the whole modules/Contacts subdirectory into a new subdirectory and make changes? I can also do the same on the MySQL database... mysqldump the contacts and related tables to create new tables.
- Are there any other ways of doing this?
Thanks,
