    Default calendar solution

    Hello all

I work for a company uses sugarcrm and have been doing so sucessfully for about 3 months now. I like it as a CRM system but Im starting to realise, the more I use it, that the calendar is not going to work for us in the long run.

So I would like to ask other sugarcrm users how you do it?

Do you use a secondary calendar as a compliment?
Force all users to use the sugarcrm calendar anyway?
    Use some nifty hack?

The ideal way for us would be if sugar could sync towards an external calendar app, for example http://webcalendar.sourceforge.net/ that we used before, or the calendar that Zimbra (www.zimbra.com) our mail system provides.

    Any input are welcome

    Thanks in advance!!

    Cheers

with zimbra utlizing outlook calendaring and a outlook plugin that syncs calendar info w/sugar.... ? just wondering, i have not actually done that but it should work (to a degree, you probably wont have full group calendar features you have with zimbra alone. since this iso ne of the features im rolling out soon what didnt you like about it? i will be utilizing outlook sync (which i use successfully here) for some users,

yes zimbra's and sugar's outlook sync features was our initial lead but it have really not worked for us. It might be misconfig from our side but I dont think so, its to many small problems. We are now in a situation where the sales people (who uses outlook) have uninstalled both the sugarcrm and zimbra connectors for outlook since they dont want to risk strange things happening to their calendar data.

Anyway even with outlook working perfectly I still have linux users so it is only a "half" solution.

Im interrested in any suggestions or ideas people might have

We also have the same issue. We are using the ical patch with sunbird and appears to be working quite well.
