Can this be installed on a webhost

Hi, i am very interested in SugarCRM, my company is actually paying thousands of dollars to have a similar system developed.

My one real question is " Can Sugar CRM be installed on a webhost? " We wouldnt want to host the application on our own internal web server because then we would also be liable for bandwidth and traffic from all of our sales representatives. We would rather pay a webhost to host this application for us, i am familiar with installing Mambo and Cubecart, and a number of other similar web applications onto a webhost, but i was wondering if the same installation process/package is available for SugarCRM.

yes, this can definitely be installed under a hosting environment. there are several companies that specialize in hosting Sugar that you might want to check out (I know jrabbit.com is one, and if you search the forums i'm sure you can find many others) if you don't already have a host. the advantage of that approach is that you ensure that the host has all the right PHP modules and they often make it easier for installs/upgrades, etc.

however, there are many of us (myself included) that run it on a standard host (already had my host long before i discovered Sugar). other then a few problems that i've run into recently with my host not having IMAP support in PHP (required for the newest functionality in v4 of Sugar), it's always worked perfectly and been easy to install/upgrade/manage. obviously your mileage might vary with a random host if they do/don't support certain required functionality.
